Many wonderful things to do and places to go in the surrounding area await you:
Vermont Microbrewery Tours
Several microbreweries are located within a short drive of the Maple Leaf Inn. Try Long Trail, Catamount or Otter Creek for more information. Sample Vermont made wines at Ottaquechee Valley Winery.
Vermont Museums
The Billings Farm Museum offers a view of historic Vermont while the Montshire Museum is a wonderful science museum that lets you experience the wonders of nature up close. The Fairbanks Museum & Planetarium is a place you don't want to miss if your travels in Vermont take you to the Northeast Kingdom. The Shelburne Museum near Burlington may be the highlight of your visit - but get an early start - there is a lot to see.
Vermont Factory Tours
How do they make those cute little Vermont Teddy Bears and where is the line for those free samples at Ben & Jerry's? Cabot Cheese, home of the world's best cheddar (they have a gold medal to prove it!) has a wonderful factory store. Wash it all down with a stop at the Cold Hollow Cider Mill - especially in the fall when they are pressing the apples. See how maple syrup is made and sample the local cheese packaged at Sugarbush Farms.
Vermont Arts and Crafts
Vermont abounds with wonderful craftsmen and artisans such as: Simon Pearce Glassblowing, Charles Shackleton Hand Crafted Furniture, Sabra Field Fine Arts, and Miranda Thomas Pottery. If you enjoy arts and crafts, be sure to plan a visit to attend the Vermont Craft's Council's statewide Open Studio Weekend on May 29 and 30, 2004.
